Three lifelong friends reunite to form their own business, putting together all their own talents and professions to build up the trustworthy and reliable business we have now.
We work dedicatedly for and with anyone in the home building and designing business. We offer high quality and cutting edge products for any project.
Fired but rehired three times
My name is Miguel Acosta. In 2007, I began learning about HVACs on the job. During off hours, I hit the books and earned my license by 2010. I enjoyed advising my customers on how to save HVAC costs, to the chagrin of my boss. I was very productive, making me the highest compensated worker.
So, over the next four years, I was actually fired three times as a result of either educating customers or sales slowing down. I was ultimately rehired because I was a reliable problem solver and I excelled as a technician.
To break this cycle, I started Acosta Air Pro in 2014. I worked my own HVAC projects while still being able to sub-contract with others.
I had a vision of something bigger. Reaching out to two friends, I had dozens of partnership conversation over the past four years. Late in 2019, I saw an empty store front in Mamaroneck and it just felt right.
I approached Elias and Charles with a greater sense of urgency.
We signed the lease around Christmas that year and formed Acosta Home & Air Pro.
Our decades of experience in HVAC, tile, countertops, kitchen remodeling, bathroom renovation and overall general contracting will enable us to provide exceptional one-stop customer service to homeowners in Westchester County and New York City.
Promising 8:00 means showing up at a quarter to...
My name is Elias Ubeda. I met Miguel over 30 years ago in Paraguay. We’ve been friends ever since.
When I emigrated to the United States in 1989, I began learning how to lay tile from my brother. I also learned how showing up on-time was the first part of customer service.
Always respectful of a customer home, I maintain a clean site and execute meticulously. Based on my experiences and creativity, I enjoy designing beautiful installations for my customers.
When my job is done, I most enjoy earning a referral or repeat business as a result of doing excellent work.
Lessons from my Father
I am Charles Burgos. A dozen years ago, I began dating my wife, Miguel’s sister.
Decades before that, I got my start in the construction business by going to work with my Dad as a teenager.
It was painful waking up early. But the pay was good and my Dad was helping me develop a work ethic of reliability. As I started meeting more people, I grew out of being shy.
The better I became at the trade, the more I could share my insights. The responsibility I was given grew. For me, the circle was completed when I started experiencing the joy customers would express for a job well done.
The fishing trip with a different catch
In 2018, Charles and Elias met on a fishing trip on the Long Island Sound.
That day, they caught more than fish.
They began to realize that they were like-minded individuals who loved their trade and focused on service.
The common bond with Miguel merged two separate two-way discussions into one three-way conversation.
Our odyssey that's only beginning
In some ways, our formalized partnership came together quickly; in other ways, this partnership has been slowly building up for over three decades. After signing our lease, we worked 16 hours a day for the better part of four months preparing the showroom and setting up the business. With breakfast, lunch and dinner delivered to the shop, we’re probably spending as much quality time with the delivery people as we do our families.
We don’t get to choose our family. If we are lucky, we are born into a loving family. Many random circumstances coincide when we meet someone. We do get to choose our friends. How lucky is it when your friend becomes your brother? How fortunate is it when your brother-in-law becomes your friend? We are Acosta Home & Air Pro and we are ready to add you to our growing roster of satisfied customers.
